1. The Bailiffs of the sd Borough for not repairing the ffoot way to Walton & if not repaired in Six weeks after notice We amerce them in Six shillings and Eight pence.

2. The sd Bailiffs for not repairing the pavement at the School House Well & for want of a flag over the sough & if not repaired in one Month after Notice We Amerce them in 6s. 8d.

3. The sd Bailiffs for not Repairing the ffoot Cart Way betwixt Cocker hole & Avenham & if [not] repaired in 8 months We amerce them in 5s.

4. The several Landowners for not repairing the ffoot way in Sundry places betwixt Avenham & the New Bridge & if not repaired in one month We Amerce them in 6s. 8d. each.

5. The sd Bailiffs for not securing the Watercourse betwixt the Middle Syke & the Waterworks & if not Scoured in one week after Notice We Amerce them in £2.

6. The said Bailiffs for not repairing the following Pumps; 3 in Friergate, one in the Market place and one in the Back Weend & also a Sough in the ffeeble street & if not repaired in one week We Amerce them in £5.

7. The proprietors of the Water Works for not repairing the Pipe wch conveys the Water from the ffolly to the Trough & if not repaired in one week We Amerce them in Two pounds.

8. John Aram? for not removing a Midding in the Turks head Yard & if not removed in one week We amerce him in 6s. 8d.

9. The Landowners or Occupiers of Land for not repairing the road leading from the new Chappel to Lady Well & also for want of a platt betwixt the ffields in possion of Wm Waterworth and Mrs Simpson & if not repaired in a fortnight's time we amerce them in 13s. 4d. each.

The new chapel (Roman Catholic) supplanted the old one in Old Chapel-yard, and stood upon the site of the present St. Mary's, Friargate brow. It was opened in 1761. During the great election riot, in 1768, it was demolished by an infuriated mob. The existing St. Mary's Chapel is the second Roman Catholic place of worship built on the same site since that act of vandalism.
