Presentments : —

1. The Highway or Lane called Ribbleton Lane, The Lane and fflagged Rampier leading towards Rible Bridge, The lane leading downe to Broadgate, The lane leading to the Marsh, The Moor lane. The long Cawsey upon the Moor, And other the Publick Highways and Cawseys in the Town of Preston and the Liberties thereof, are in decay and much out of Repair, And Therefore wee doe Amerce the Inhabitants of Preston aforesaid in the summe of fiifteen pounde for the speedy Repair of the said Lanes, Highwayes, and Cawseyes, according to the Statute.

2. Sir Chrofer Greenfield that hee cause the Cawsey after the side of his Barnes in St. Johns Weend betwixt that weend end and Mr Holders house to bee well and sufficiently repaired before the twenty fifth of September next Otherwise wee Amerce him in Thirteen Shillings and four pence.

3. Mr Jeoffrey Rishton That hee Cause the Cawsey after the side of his Barne in the sd St. Johns Weend to bee sufficiently Repaired before the said twenty fifth of September next On paine of Three shillings four pence.

4. The Supravisors of the Highwayes in this Town That they cause a good ffoot Cawsey to bee layd and paved in the ffryer weend or Lane betwixt the Dye house and the Alley lane before the twenty nynth of October next, Otherwise wee Amerce them in Thirty shillings.

5. Mr. William Tomlinson (now Tenant att the Anker), That hee Cause the Deep and dangerous middingsteed, att the bottom of St. John's Weend, to bee filled up with earth, even with that Weend, before the twenty nynth of September next, Otherwise wee Amerce him in fforty shillings.

6. The Bayliffs of this Town That they Cause the Well over against John Hodgkinson att Church gate Town end to bee sufficiently repaired before the twenty nynth of September next upon paine of Thirty Shillings.

7. James Drinkwater scour his Ditch and repair his Copp att Broadgate end before the twnety fourth of September next, on paine of Twenty Shillings.

8. John Greenalgh, Blacksmith, and Hugh Gumall for layeing a dead horse in Alderman Sudell's Ditch, in the South meadow lane, neare adjoineing to the Publick Road, to the great Annoyance thereof; And doe Amerce them for soe doing in three shillings and four pence a peece.

9. Henry Yates Plaisterer doe amend, alter and repaire his house of Office soe as the same may not for the future run into or bee annoyance to the highway adjoining. And doe order that this bee sufficiently done before the twenty nynth of September next on pain of vjs. viijd.

10. John Miller of the Marsh Mill, That hee lay a Bridge att the Watery Lane end, and another ffootbridge att the Skinners pitts neare the Mill damm before the twenty nynth of September next, on paine of Thirteen Shillings and four pence.

11. The Supravisors of the Highwayes in this Town, that they cause the Rampier in the side of the Marsh Lane to bee sufficiently Repaired before the twenty nynth of September next Otherwise wee doe Amerce them in Six shillings eight pence.

12. Mr Andrew Dandy for makeing an Incroachmt with his garden Pale into the common ffootway, and for bindring? in and narrowing the antient Cartway to the Kilne and Maltlofts? in Cheethams Backside; And doe order that the said Mr Dandy doe Cause the said Incroachmt and Pale to bee removed before the twenty eight day of October next, otherwise wee doe Amerce him in fforty shillings.

13. The Supravisors of the Highwayes in this Town, that they cause the Cawsey betwixt the Pinfould and Spitle Mosse to bee sufficiently repaired before the twenty eight of October next, Otherwise wee Amerce them in Twenty Shillings.

14. William Cowp, John Merry and Edwd ffarnworth, That they sufficiently Scour their ditches in Dagergate Lane, before the twenty nynth of September next, on paine of Six shillings and eight pence a peece.

15. The severall psons hereafter named in three shillings four pence a peece for their respective non appeareance att the said Court Leet, being duly Summoned by the Sarjeant. vizt.
