1. These psons following for not appearing at this Court and doe amerce them in twelve pence a peece vizt.
Alderman Kellett, Lawrence Shepheard, Richard Kendall, John Townend, Thomas Santer, James Taylor, Thomas Astley, Roger Sudell sen gen, William Davies, William Townend, William Haydock gen, Joseph Rigby, Thomas Cooke, Thomas Bradley, William Tomlinson gen, William Bushell gen, William Walmsley of the holehouse, John Thorpe, Richard Hartley gen, Edward Craven, John Mosse, William Eaves, Robert Richardson, Edmund Bostocke, Henry Turnley, Samuel Cottam, John Lamplugh.
2. The way leading from ffishergate barrs towards Ribble___, the way at the Churchgate end leading onto Swilbrooke, the Cawsey out of the friergate barrs and Tulketh lane, the Cawsey betwixt Churchgate barrs and the Moore yate there. All within this Burrough are out of repaire, And that the same ought to be repaired by the Inhabitants of the Burrough affore___, And wee conceive that noe lesse then twenty makes will repaire the ways aforesd.
3. William Rushton Carpenter for suffering his garden Coppts fall downe upon the Cawsey neare the Churchgate Almeshouses and not cleareing the aforesaid Cawsey from the same and therefore amerce him in 6s.
4. Thomas Sclater taylor, for laying his midding at his Stable doore in the foot way there to the prjudice of ye Inhabitants of this Burrough And therefore amerce him in three shillings.
5. Thomas Sclater for not repaireing his cawsey over against his said stable And amerce him for the same in 1s. 6d.
6. Robert Whittingham for not repaveing his Cawsey over against his house now in possession of John Hodgkinson Shoomaker leading towards the Almshouses And for not repaireing the Rampier betwixt the house now in possession of James Taylor plasterer & ye sd house in the possession of the sd John Hodgkinson And therefore Amerce him in 5s and in the sume of 20s more If the same be not repaired before ye tenth of June next.
7. Mrs Elizabeth Hodgkinson widdow, Richard Jackson, Chrofer Greenfield Esqre, William Udall and Henry Soylding? were by the last Inquest of office prsented that they should scoure their ditches in South meadow lane before the tenth of March now last which are not yet scowered And therefore Amerce the sd Mrs Hodgkinson, Richard Jackson, Mr Greenfield, William Udall and Henry Soylding? in the sume of 3s. 4d. a peece.
8. Richard Thorpe was by the last Inquest of office prsented that he should scoure his ditches in the meadow lane before the tenth of March now last, which are not yet done And therefore we amerce him in 3s. 4d.
9. John Coulburne, was by the same Inquest of office prsented that he Should Scoure his ditch & make a Sufficient ffence betweene his and Edward Letherbarrows fold, above moore brow before the tenth of March now last which is not yet done And therefore wee Amerce him in 3s. 4d.
10. Thomas Birch Vicar of Preston was prsented by the Same Inquest of office for not makeing sufficient hedge and ditch between the viccaridge Croft and a field in possession of John Wood called ye further tenter hey which is not yet done and therefore wee amerce him in 3s. 4d.
11. William Patten gen was by the same Inquest of office prsented for not removing his rubbidge laid in St. Johns lane which is not yet done and therefore wee amerce him in 3s. 4d.
12. Henry Graystocke was by the last Inquest of office prsented that he should Scoure his watercourse, Adjoyning to the Marsh & make a sufficient ditch towards the water where it was usuall to seperate the Townes land and that in his possession before the tenth of March last which he hath not yet done And therefore wee Amerce him in 3s. 4d.
13. Thomas Patten Esqre was by the Inquest of office aforesaid prsented that he should repaire the watercourse leading from the Marsh mill and fill up the breakes which it hath occasioned on the Marsh (being dangerous to travellers) And haveing beene prsented Severall times before, And that [t]he sd Mr Patten Should doe the same before the 10th of March now last which he hath not yet done And therefore wee Amerce him in the Sume of 6s. 8d.
14. Hugh Symons and the rest of the ffishers of Rible within Preston aforesaid ffor that their ffishing netts which they make use of for catching of Salmon ffish are lesse than the statute in that case exacts? and therefore wee Amerce them in the Sume of fforty Shillings.
15. Mr Daniel Chaddock for laying and Suffering his earth or Rubbidge to lye in the highway over against his new barne in the ffishergate and for the Same doe Amerce him in the Sume of 6d. And in the further Sume of one Shillings If the Same be not removed before the twenty fourth of June next.
16. John Couldburne for layeing his Rubbige in the highway over agt the Pinfould and for Suffering the same to lye there which is a great annoyance to their majties highway And for that offence doe Amerce him in the Sume of 3s. 4d. And the further Sume of 3s. 4d. if the Same be not removed before the tenth of July next.
17. These persons following for not fixing or placeing Railes at their Seller Staires which open into the streets of this Burrough vizt.

And doe Amerce these severall psons above named in the Severall Sumes of 2s. 6d. a peece.
18. By an order of the last guild merchant held for this Burrough. It is (amongst other things) ordered that all Apprentices either to Shopkeepers or any Marchancke trade within this towne should be taken by Indenture, And yt ye ??? of such apprentices should within one month after the ??? of such Indentures Attend the maior for the time being with his apprentice And should ??? a short entry or Inrollmt to be made in a booke to be kept for that purpose containeing the names of ye maistor & Apprentice with the addicon of the maistors trade or ??? the date of the Indenture and the time the sd Apprentice is to serve. And it was further ordered that in case any Maister should make default in makeing entry of his Apprentice in manner aforesd then to pay to the use of the Maior, Baliffes & Burgesses 20s by way of forfeture, And whereas Robert Ryley, Thomas Cowart, Job Robinson, Nathaniel Etough, Richard Pedder?, Richard Bray, William Gregson, Thomas Higham, Edward Letherbarrow, John Hardman, Henry Crooke and Mathew Read, All Shoppkeepers or Mackamicke? trades within this Towne have taken every one of them one apprentice which have served them above a month and not entred or enrolled them according As by the sd order is directed. Therefore we prsent the severall psons last named according to ye sd guild order in the Sume of 20s. apeece.
19. Thomas Watson of this Towne Carpenter for takeing two apprentices and not enrolling them according to the ordr aforesd in the Sume of 40s.
20. Henry Wilding Butcher for not scowring his ditches leading from South meadow lane towards Rible and for the same fine him in the Sume of 6s. 8d. if not done before the first of August next.
21. Crofer Greenfield Esqre for not scouring his ditches leading from the lane aforesd towards Rible and fine him in the Sume of 6s. 8d. if not done before the first of August next.
22. The Baliffes for not repaireing Corker hole and order them to repaire the same by the 29th of Sept next upon paine of 6s. 8d.
