1. John Woods for not scoureing his ditch in Broadgate Laine presented by the last Inquest of office & Suffering a tree to lye in ye ditch wch ??? the Watercourse to overrune in through & over the high way & fine him in 3s. 4d & if not done before ye tenth day of May to pay 3s. 4d.

2. Willm Greenhalgh was at ye last Cort Leet fined in 10s for not repaireing his Cawsey in St. Johns Weend And ye Same not being yet done wee fine him ye said Greenhalph for ye default aforesd in ye further sume of 5s.

3. Ye Bayliffes for not causeing ye Minspitt Well to be dressed & cleansed & ye Rubbish formerly & then to be got thereout removed before the fifth of May next upon paine of vjs. viijd.

4. Crofer Santer for that he being at the last Cort Leet kept for this Burrough prsented & fined for not removeing an Incroachmt from before the house doore of John Singleton Sen & fined 6s. 8d. for ye Same wch is not yet done & therefore wee fine him in the further Summe of 10s.

5. That ye way Leading from ffishergate Barrs towards Ribble, the way at ye Churchgate end Leading towards Swilbrooke, the way leading unto & upon ye Moore, Ribbleton Laine, New hall Laine, ye Tolketh Laine & the way leading to ye Marsh, all within this Burrough are in decay & out of Repaire & yt the Same ought to be repaired by ye Maior, Bayliffes & Burgesses of this Burrough.

6. Edw Riddyhalgh for not Scoureing his ditch betwixt his close neare the broade medow & A close of Land heretofor Mr Sumpner & now in possion of John Powell. And for not doeing thereof doe fine him 3s. 4d.

7. Yt Richard Thorpe was prsented by ye Jury of ye Last Inquest of office for not Scoureing his ditch & opening ye Springe betwixt Mr Hobson & him leading to ye Broadgate & betwixt & ye 24th of March then next. And wee finding yt ye Same is betwixt a close of ground farmed by him ye said Thorpe & ye towns Land in possion of ye Said Hobson wch is not yet opened & scoured & washeth away the townes Land insoemuch yt there is a good Space betwixt ye quickwood rowe & the place where it water now cometh therefore wee fine the said Thorpe in ye Sume of vjs. viijd.

8. Crofer Greenfeild Esqre, Thomas Rigby & James Garstange for laying theire heaps of Rubish in St Johns Weend & yt by ye last inquest of office they were presented for ye same wch is not yet removed therefore wee find them in five Shillings a peice & if not removed before ye 20th of May next to pay 5s. apeice more.

9. Henry Herdsley yt he being prsented by ye last Inquest of office for not filling up his bricke pitts upon ye Moore & he not haveing pformed the Said prsentmt therefore wee fine him in ye Sume of 20s if ye Same be not done by ye last of May next.

10. Thomas Patten Esqre for turning ye water leading unto ye Marsh Mill over ye Land in ye possion of Jane Craven Widdowe And for yt offence wee doe fine him in ye Sume of 3s. 4d.

11. Willm Charnocke, Willm Udall, Tho: Whittaker, Mr Willm Wearden, Randle Serlicar, Richard Jackson, ??? Averall? Rigby & Mr Nicholas Walmsley & John Cowborne for letting theire Carts in ye Streets & doe amerce & fine them severally in Sixe Shillings eight pence a peice.

12. Willm Charnocke Carter, Tho: Whittaker & Willm Udall for removeing & takeing away a style in ye coman high way leading from ye new bridge at Cowford? towards this towne & crosseing Lancr Laine & makeing up the way And for yt offence doe fine them sevrally in 5s. a peice.

And yt ye Style be set there againe & ye pay laid open before ye 10th of May next upon paine of 3s. 4d a peice more.

13. Margt Bray Widdowe for incloseing a peice of ye Laine part of ye Wasts of this towne adjoying to ye Garden belonging to ye house neare ye pinfold & fine them in 2s. 6d.

14. Yt ye way for abt 4 Rood bejond ye end of ye Cawsey neare pinfold is in decay & that ye Supvisors ought to repaire the Laine & yt a Cawsey added for yt Length will be verry convenient.

15. Henry ffisher for erecting a Small building neare the end of his house at ye ffishergate towne end upon ye towns wast & fine him for ye same 1s. 6d.

16. Mr Alderman Kellett, Crofer Jackson & John Hodgkinson currier for laying theire Middings & Worthing in the new hall Laine being Anoysome to ye towne & for ye same fine them Severally in 3s. 4d. a peice & if ye Same be not removed before ye 10th of May next to pay 3s. 4d a peice more.

17. These psons following for watering theire horses at ye Comon & publique Springe Wells wthin ye Streets of this towne & fine them severally in 3s. 4d a peice vizt

18. Randle Cooke for pressing & breaking downe ye Railes at Churchgate barrs by laying timber upon ye Same. And therefore doe fyne him in 10s.

19. Ye Bayliffes that they cause ye Said Churchgate barrs to be repaired before ye 10th of May next upon paine of 6s. 6d?

20. Tho: Winckley gen for laying his timber in ye Street in ye ffishergate & for ye Same wee fine him in 6s. 8d.

21. John Woods for Suffering his Rubbish & bricke to lye in ye Weend neare his house being an hynderence to ye high way & for ye Same offence fine him in 2s. 6d.

22. Nicholas Wall gen & Richd Jenkinson for not Setting Railes at theire Seller Staires. And doe fine them severally in 2s 6d a peice.

23. Edward Riddihalgh, Edward Gregson for keeping Scabbed horses upon ye Moore pte of ye Comons wthin this towne & fine them for ye Same in ye Sume of tenne shillings a peice.

24. Ellis Makeing for not Scouring his ditch at ye bottom of his Garden at Chetham backside & fine him in 3s. 4d. if ye Same be not done by ye 10th of May next.

25. Crofer Greenfeild Esqre hath not laid open the ancient foot way leading through a pcell of Land heretofore called Hesketh Croft according to an order of ye last Guild & sevrall prsentmts heretofor made touching? the said way And for not opening the Same way Wee fine ye Said Mr Greenfeild in ye Sume of 40s.

26. Henry Graystocke & Jacobus Holt for yt they wth theire familys doe abuse the pinders of this towne in the execucon of theire office And doe fine them the Said Henry Graystocke & James Holt severally in ye Sume of 6s. 8d. a peice.

27. John Woods for pairing? the Laine at ye side of ye Watercourse leading to ye Bridge at Broadgate within this towne & thereby hath incroached on ye Lane & put ye Watercourse out of its due course to ye danger of the Bridge for wch wee fine him in tenn shillings As to gett away ye earth & wrocke wch is abt eight yeards in Length And 4 yards thereof abt a yard & a halph broad & ye rest abt yard broad and put ye watercourse in its antient course by ye last day of May next upon of 20s. more.

28. John Ryding Shoemaker he for some time past layd Carran & dead swine upon his Dunghill in his backside wch hath beene very noysome to ye neighbours & a very great Anewsance to ye Inhitance of this towne therefore doe amerce him to pay 3s. 4d. for wch is past & every time he layeth any more there hereafter 6s. 8d.

29. Yt John Kay, Tho: Bickerstaffe, Thomas Cooke & John Sowerbutts Suffer theire Swine to goe in ye Street & turne them downe ye ffishergate yt they goe into ye Laines & feilds & contrary to ye orders of the last Guild therefore fine them in 3s. 4d. a peice.
