1. Ye highwayes about this towne are very much out of repaire especially ye ffishergate lane, ye moore lane leading from ffryergate barrs, ye long Cawsey on ye Moore and church gate towne end. And do believe they may bee putt in good repaire wth ye sume of ffifteene pounds.

2. Mr George Addison ye prsent Maior hath by his servts lade much earth and rubbage in ye ffishergate lane to ye great prjudice of his Maties subjects passing yt way especially to ye inhabitants of this Corporacon. Ye he remove ye same betwixt & ye xxiiij^th of ffebr next on paine of xls.

3. These psons for keeping Greyhounds and Coursing haires not being qualifyed according to Lawe. To bee punished according to ye Law in yt case made & provided.

5. James Kitchen yt hee layes his dung in John Powells ditch in ye back weend to ye great prjudice of John Powell and yt hee remove ye same forth of ye said ditch before ye xth day of December next upon paine of xiijs. iiijd.

6. That ye Syke troughs are out of repair. That ye Baliffs repair ye same before ye xx^th of January next upon pain of xls.

7. Thomas Bickerstaffe turneth eight swine into ye streets and feilds about this towne. To pay vis. viijd. for what is past and to pay iiijd apiece for every swine he suffereth to go in ye fields or wander in ye streets hereafter.

8. Mr John Prescott yt he cause a Cawsey of two yards brode to bee made at ye end of his croft in ye street below churchgate barrs and three yards brode before his house there before ye last day of January next upon paine of vl.

^*Dr Bushell was probably Seth Bushell the vicar of Preston from 1664-1682. According to the Dictionary of National Biography he "was a loyal, pious, and charitable man, courteous to the dissenters and respected by them." He was the grandfather of William Bushell who founded the Goosnargh hospital.

11. These psons ffollowing that they remove their middings out of ye way below ye churchgate barrs and their heads of sand and rubbage and fill upp ye holes there before ye first day of ffebr next upon paine of xs. apiece.

14. Nicholas Watson that hee remove his timber out of ye street in ye ffryergate before ye xij^th of December next upon paine of xxs.

That ye Croft in wch ye lime pitts are sett belowe ye Minspitt well and ye garden next below ye Malt house there by open to yt weend and yt ye said pitts are very dangerous both to Children & goods. Therefor yt ye Occupyers of ye said croft & garden do make upp ye said ffence betwixt and ye seacond of ffebr next on paine of xxs.

16. Elizabeth Kellett doth lettye ramper at her house now in possession of Mrs Mitton to bee out of repaire & dangerous to his Maties subjects passing yt way that shee repaire ye same betwixt & ye first of Match next upon paine of xxs.

17. Chrofer Walmsley thay hee remove ye earth wch is shott downe into ye highway leading into Ribleton lane betwixt & ye seacond of ffebr next upon paine of xs.

18. Roger Santer made and assalt & affray upon ye body of John Maire to pay iis. iiijd.

19. That ye Baliffes do make a little platt in ye middle of ye stony gate leading to ye Schoole house and repaire ye Cawsey there betwixt & ye seacond of ffebr next upon paine of xs.
