1. John Greenwood that he contrary to ye 57th prsentmt hath not removed his swine fould & troughs now standing in ye weend leading to Minspitt well to ye great annoyance of the high way therefore wee amerce him in vjs. viijd. And for every hereafter ye same shall stand unremoved to pay vjs. viijd.

2. Luke Greenefield that he contrary to ye 58th prsentmt of ye last Jury Leete doth suffer a swine trough to stand at his house in ye wiend Leading to Minspitt well and to eate theire meat there to ye great nuzance of such as live or passe that way, therefore for the time past to pay iijs. iiijd. and for every month hereafter notice to pay vjs. viijd.

3. Hugh Copeland, Thomas Cumbrall, John Cumbrall, John Copeland, John Radcliffe, Willm Wiggins and John Whalley for not covering theire lime pitts on ye Marsh to ye great danger of Cattle coming thether and according to ye 65th prsentmt of the last Leete therefore wee doe amerce them and every of them for the time past in iijs. iiijd. a piece and that they shall hereafter make covrs or lidds upon paine of iijs. iiijd. a piece.

4. Henry Graistocke, Willm and Thomas Graistocke for suffring their geese to pasture upon the Marsh contray to ye Guild Ordrs & therefore wee Amerce them and every on them in iijs. iiijd. a piece.

5. That the ffoot cawsey behind Twistletons to Almeshouse as also ye cawsey behind ffishergate Barrs & the cawsey to ye pinfould are all of them very Ruinous and much out of repair to the great Annoyance of psons passing these wayes, therefore the Supvisors are to cause the Sevrall breaches thereof sufficiently repaired before the 25th day of March next upon paine to forfeit xs. apiece.

6. These psons hereundr written for not appearing at this Leete Cort contrary to ye oath of A Burgesse being duely Summoned by the Serieant therefore to pay each of them 3s. 4d. a piece.

7. George Bennet Milner yt he shall sufficiently repaire ye Copps and breaches of ye Marsh milne Damme soe yt ye water doe not breake out to hurt ye Marsh or ye highway there before ye 25th day of March next upon paine of [missing]

8. Yt ye Assize of bread ale and beare is not observed and kept in this towne as it ought to be considring the lowe rates of Corne wee leave ye same to the discretion of Mr Maior to be reformed & amended.

9. Ye sevrall psons hereundr written & who harbours them, And wee hope Mr Maior will cause them to give Securyty to save the towne harmlesse from any ffuture Burthen or charge according to ye Anncient custome of this Burrough wch we leave to ye discression of Mr Maior.

12. Mr Waltcoate for Brewing or retailing Ale in his house not being a ffreeman and as wee conceive wthout lycence therefore to pay for every month he shall soe brew or retail Ale to forfeit xxs.

13. The Occupiers of Hinginge browe, belonging to Wilkinson's tenant, shall set a raile at the Bridge in ye ffootway from plumpton [Woodplumpton] to this market before the 2d of ffebruary next upon paine of vis. viijd.

14. These psons following for suffring theire swine comonly graseing and rooting in ye Church yard and [are] prsented unto us by the pindrs; therefore wee amerce them and every of them, according to ye guild ordr in yt behalfe made, in vid., for every time such swine have been taken there.

15. The sevrall ownrs of swine wthin this towne doe suffer theire swine dayly to runn upp & downe in the Streete & many of them unrung & yt the ownrs doe not keepe theire swine wthin theire coates or Backsides contrary to ye Guild ordr in yt behalfe made therefore the ownr of every such swine shall for the time to come forfeit & pay for ye use of this Incorporacon for every such offence iiijd.

16. Thomas ffrance for makeing a Tusle and drawing blood upon ye body of Willm Woodward & therefore to pay vjs. viijd.

17. Willm Woodward for a tusle upon Thomas ffrance therefore to pay iijs. iiijd.

18. Chrofer Kilshawe for a Tusle upon Willm Woodward therefore to pay iijs. iiijd.

19. John Woods Joyner for a tusle and drawing blood upon ye body Roger Mosse therefore to pay vjs. viijd.

20. Roger Mosse for a tusle upon ye body of John Woods therefore to pay iijs. iiijd.

21. Mr John Langton doth suffer his ditch in ye Little lane leading to Gouldsmith banke to lye unscowred wch hath beene and is agreat prjudice of other mens Cattle many whereof have beene or likely yo be spoyled & ye said Mr Ashton shall pay for the time past vjs. viijd. And shall sufficiently scowre his ditch and draw the water away & stake & wind the same sufficiently before ye first day of Aprill upon paine of xiijs. iiijd.

22. Mr Henry Chorley doth suffer his fence to lye downe betwixt his croft & John Cliftons garden and yt ye said Mr Chorley shall make his fence there before ye seacond day of ffebruary next upon paine of vjs. viijd.

23. Mr John Clifton for suffring his fence to Lye down at his garden at or nere minspitt well to ye great prjudice of his neighbours. And that he shall make sufficient ffence there soe much is of right he ought to make before ye 2nd day of ffebruary next upon paine of vjs. viijd.

24. Hugh Rimmer doth entertaine in his house or keepinge one Henry Gradwell and ioyner by trade, he not being a ffreeman of this Incorporacon, And suffers him to worke for his owne Advantage and pffitt upon Condition yt within 2 yeares time ye said Gradwell shall teach him ye said Rimer the trade of a Joyner, wch ye said Hugh Rimer begunn to be, contrary to sevrall Guild ordrs of this Burrowe; therefore wee ordr and say that ye said Henry Gradwell shall forbeare working any more as a [joiner] wthin this towne upon paine of xxs. for every time he shall soe offend, And yt If Hugh Rimmer doe at any time after notice suffer ye said Henry Gradwell to worke wthin any part of his house then ye said Hugh Rimmr to fforfeite for every offence xxs.

25. Henry Blackhurst for suffring the steepewater to runne from his cestrans(cistern) into ye streete to ye great Newsance & anoyance of all ye neighbors liveing thereabout as contrary to ye sixtieth prsentmt of ye last Leete, therefore wee amerce him according to ye said prsentm[t] vjs. viijd. for the time past & he shall stopp ye said Corse & turn his steepewater Corse forth of ye streete before ye 2nd of ffebruary next upon paine of xxs.

26. All the Alehousekeeps doe retaile Ale and beare wthout Lycence wee leave the same to Mr Maior doe therein as he thinkes convenient.

27. Margret Mitton widd doth much annoyance to Thomas Burton by suffring the water wch cometh from her midden stead and house of office to runne through his garden and though the same hath beene made knowne unto her yet she hath not caused the same to be conveyed the right way wee therefore ordr yt she shall cause the said water turned into its usuall course wthin tenn dayes after notice or pay vjs. viijd a month.

28. Willm Woodward that he hath not scowred agutter through Titmouse croft nor opned the platt in ye way to Avenam according to ye 14th prsentmt of ye Last Inquest and therefore hath forfeited the sume of iijs. iiijd and also according to ye thirty ffourth prsentmt of ye last Jury Leete the said Willm Woodward was to scowre the gutter through Titmouse crofte and to open ye platt leading to ye schoole house and by yt prsentmt hath also fforfeited vjs. viijd. And wee also prsent and Amerce him in ye sume of xiijs. iiijd for the time past & for every month ye same shall Lye undone after notice to pay vjs. viijd.

29. Edward Rigby Esqr for suffring the midding to be ??? upp or taken away wch annoyeth the Highway at ye mill hill at ye east end of the towne soe yt psons cannot passe yt way to or ffrom ye Market & yt ye same be removed or kept upp yt it annoyeth not ye Highway before the seacond of ffebruary next upon paine of vjs. viijd.

30. Not onely upon ye Informacon given to us but also in pursueance of the 13th prsentmt of the Jury Leete in Anno 1662 that Edward Charnocke doth keepe unlawfull gameing in his house to ye great Losse and overthrowe of many psons by harbouring theire sonnes and servts and suffring them to gamble on his house to theire great losse and damage and not onely soe but to Incourage others to doe ye like wee therefore Amerce him in 40s & desire Mr Maior will take further Course to see ye same reformed.

31. Ye Balives for not paveing ye pinfould yt ye same shall be done before ye 25th of March next upon xxs.

32. These psons ffollowing yt they keepe great unruely doggs wthin this towne wch breeds amongst theire neighbors much mischeefe in not keeping theire dogs musled according to a formr prsentmt of ye Jury in 1665 & to pay for every default after notice 5d apiece. Mr Kuke Hodgkinson, Mrs Turner, Mr Tho: Patten, Robte Loxham, Mr Richard Sumpner, Lawrence Mitton, John Singleotn, John Walshman, John Burchall, Hugh Copeland, Lawrence Bostocke, Tho: Stuth, John Thorpe.

33. Willm Dolfin and John Bostocke, contrary to ye ordes [orders] of this towne, have brough[t] calves forth [away from] of ye appointed market, for the use of there masters, for wch offence according to the guild ordr we fiine them in 40s. apiece.

34. John Walshman for makeing an assault & drawing blood upon ye body of Mr James Archer now Baliffe of this towne and therefore to pay xxs.

35. Lawrence Mitton for makeing an Assault on the body of James Archer as he was conveying the body of John Walshman to prison & indeavouring to rescue ye said John Walshman & wee referr the same to ye Guild ordr in yt case made and pvided.

36. Thomas Birches for laying his Rubbish betwixt Mr Prestons and the spittle mosse & we find him if he shall cause ye same removed out of ye Highway before ye 25th of March upon paine of 40s.

37. Ye occupyers of ye Marsh Mill in yt they are not repaire the two sluces running betwixt ye milles & we fine them in vjs. viijd. if they be not repaired before the 25th of March next.

38. Mr. Thomas Birches and Robte Tomlinson doe keepe unlawfull gameing in theire houses, to ye great losse and damage of sevrall people, and therefore wee Amerce them in xxs. apiece, and desire Mr. Maior will take further Corse to see ye same reformed.

39. John Threlfall for suffring gameing in his house upon ye Lords day, and therefore doe Amerce him in xs., and desire Mr. Maior will take Corse for the reforming of it.
